Ready-To-Read Storytime for 5 - 8 year olds

A storytime especially for big kids!

 Children who have entered grade school start their own journeys towards being readers, but they still love listening to stories! This storytime supports emerging readers by exposing them to authors & series geared towards them in a lively, engaging setting, complete with craft to broaden their interest and a snack at the end of the hour! Music instructor and band leader Rick Marshall will teach students rudimentary rhythms, sticking combinations, beats, and self-expression through percussion. The classes will meet on the Library lawn or in the gazebo in case of rain, and will encourage self-expression and foster a sense of community. For ages 7 - 14. Equipment will be provided. Mark your calendars: a Drum Recital will follow the 3 weeks of classes at 5pm on 8/16! Please register online or in the Children’s Department.

See, learn about, and use some of the coolest new tech out there, like a 3D printer, a CNC milling/carving machine,   Ozobots, Little Bits Electronics, & a bunch of other cool stuff. Participants will learn how to use the TinkerCAD & possibly Easel programs. Space is limited; register and find out more below.

Ukulele Follow-up Class

You can learn to play the ukulele!

Learn Ukulele! This class is a follow-up to the beginner Ukulele Class or for those with previous experience.  Use one of the instructor’s ukuleles or bring in your own for a simple lesson of fundamentals followed by a strum-along of fun easy songs.  This grant-funded class is provided free to you by the Ludlow Cultural Council.  Space is limited, please register at the circulation desk or by calling 583-3408.
