Applicants must be going into 6th grade or older. Volunteers generally work one hour a week. Applications are available in the Children’s Department.

3-D & Robotics Makerspace program

5:30pm - 7:30pm

Thanks to a grant from the Ludlow Cultural Council, we have the most popular program from last summer back, this time for a series of four workshops!

See, learn about, and use some of the coolest new tech out there, like a 3D printer, a CNC milling/carving machine,   Ozobots, Little Bits Electronics, & a bunch of other cool stuff. Participants will learn how to use the TinkerCAD & possibly Easel programs. Optional (but helpful): bring your laptop if you have one, so you can learn on your own device (no software needs to be installed to play with the programs introduced in the workshop).

Please click below to register; register for each week separately.

Movie: Rivers and Tides: Andy Goldsworthy Working with Time

5:00pm

This gorgeous, peaceful documentary about how Scottish artist Andy Goldsworthy creates his "environmental sculptures" will serve as the inspiration for our own workshop on creating art from objects found in nature. The art workshop will take place right after the movie is over, but all are invited, regardless of workshop participation. Rated G, length 90m.

Thanks to Skyline Productions www.skyline.uk.com for permission to show the film.

A second film about Andy Goldsworthy called Leaning into the Wind - Andy Goldsworthy will be released in the US by Magnolia Pictures next year.
