Book & Craft Pairing: Books about Color with 3D Hot Air Balloons

Pick up a book, & get a complete take-home craft kit!

The Hubbard Library Youth Room is offering a monthly book and craft pairing program; check out a book about our theme of the month, and take home everything you need to make an accompanying craft!

This month we're making magical wildflower gardens, paired with books about spring and gardens!

After we receive your registration, we will send you a list of available books about the theme. Write back with your selection (or let us know your child's age and ask for a book bundle - 7-10 books on the theme already packaged up by age level) and when you pick your selection up from our curbside delivery service, you'll also get a kit that contains everything you need to make this lovely craft! If you need enough for multiple children, just let us know!

Reconstructing History & Genealogy: Mom’s WWII Letters

6:30pm - 7:30pm

Register below for this virtual event.

In May 2017, Corinne Smith found her mother's stash of more than 80 letters from 16 servicemen she had corresponded with in 1944-1945. Corinne began to trace the soldiers' family trees with one goal in mind: to return the letters in person to their children. This presentation links history and genealogy to present-day research and diligence. It revisits a time that we may not want to forget. And it may prompt others to wonder for themselves what treasures lurk in their own old family boxes, and how they can share the information with others.

Corinne H. Smith is a writer who is originally from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. She served for several years on the board of The Blair County Genealogical Society in Altoona, Pennsylvania. Her first book was a self-published family history titled "From Saxony to the Lehigh Valley: The Descendents of Ludwig Hossfeld" (1992). Since then, she has written several books about American author Henry David Thoreau. She is a former librarian and lives in Gardner, Massachusetts.

This program is supported by a grant from the Ludlow Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.

Please register below for the event and you will be sent a code to access the meeting at start time.

VIRTUAL PROGRAM: YA GAMES NIGHT!

6:30pm - 8:00pm

Come game with us!

Join Olivia for some awesome virtual gaming (similar to Pictionary, trivia & Mad Libs) through Jackbox games on Steam.

You will need two different screens for this game night (like a laptop and a cell phone, for example), one for Zoom and one for game play, but you don’t need a Jackbox Games account to play. In order to maintain internet safety, we require registration so that we can send you a private link and a password to get into the session, and will send you a new link and password each week.

Please click below to register, & make sure to provide your email address. Our website is currently experiencing some difficulties and you may get an error message after you register, but the registrations are going through; we will call you to let know we got the registration!
