Stories In Stone

6:30pm - 7:30pm

Stories In Stone

There are many stone inscriptions hidden in the forests of New England that date back to early Native American and Colonial periods. Some of them are examples of spiritual rock art and cultural artifacts. The purpose and meaning of other inscriptions are cloaked in mystery. There are those who claim they are signs of pre-columbian voyages, hidden treasures, or the dark practice of witches.

In this presentation you will hear about the original mysterious inscriptions in America. You also will see some of the fascinating inscriptions recently discovered in the northeast. Join Michael Girard and enjoy as he shares a mix of history and lore for all to enjoy.

Michael Girard is an explorer and adventurer with over 30 years of experience in discovering some of the lesser-known locations, history and lore of New England. From lost cave to inscribed rocks, Michael brings New England history to life.

Please join us for this virtual event by registering on this website to be sent a link on the day of the event.

Museum of Bad Art Tour

1:00pm

Tour the Museum of Bad Art Virtually

Join the Ludlow Senior Center and the Hubbard Memorial Library in Tour of the Museum of Bad Art sponsored by The Ludlow Cultural Council on Zoom.

The MOBA collects, exhibits, and celebrates art that will be seen in no other venue. Since 1993, they have collected art from thrift stores, yard sales, sidewalk trash, and even the artists who create it. They analyze, compare to classic art, and share with thousands of fans around the world.

Join Louise Reilly Sacco, The Permanent Acting Interim Executive Director of the Museum Of Bad Art as she gives us a virtual tour of the museum. She was part of MOBA’s founding team in 1993. Despite a complete lack of formal training in any visual arts, she continues to lead MOBA to maintain a reputation as the world’s leading institution in this field.

Louise Reilly Sacco will introduce us to the world’s leading cultural institution dedicated to art in which something has gone wrong and to describe how, and why it was established in her MOBA art 101 tour.  MOBA presents pieces from their collection, with an insightful, pithy, and often humorous commentary.

“This program is supported in part by a grant from the Ludlow Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.”

Please register below or call Maria Ardolino at the Ludlow Senior Center for the Zoom meeting code and password or link at 413-583-3564 the library circulation desk at 583-3408 ext. 0.
