If you have a little one who loves music, this program is for you! Join us for a half-hour of adult-&-child singing, clapping, and stomping along to favorite kids’ songs; the program will take place on the library lawn when weather allows with equipment set up during the live event for those who wish to participate virtually; the program will happen exclusively via Zoom when weather is bad. Parents & caregivers, please stay with your little ones, as this is a program for both of you!

Wag Your Tail Virtual Event

Treat your favorite pet!

Make two kinds of doggie treats for your pooch, a neighbor, or an Animal Shelter with Chef Rob.  We will be making banana sweet potato oats treats and pumpkin cinnamon doggie treats in this virtual event for all ages.  We will provide you with recipes and ingredient lists prior to the class so that you cook along with Chef Rob.  You must register in advance to get the link to the program.  Registration begins on June 21.

Join Olivia for some awesome LIVE gaming (similar to Pictionary, trivia & Mad Libs) through Jackbox games on Steam! There are over 35 unique games that include drawing games, trivia games, Imposter style games, and many more - if you have never played before they are easy to learn and a lot of fun! We'll meet on the library lawn under our tents, and use our portable flatscreen to play (bring a phone or tablet to participate or the library can loan you a mini-tablet). You can also Zoom in to join; if it rains we'll switch to virtual format. For ages 12+. Please register.

 

Smudge Sticks!

6:30pm - 7:30pm

Smudge Sticks with Grounded Goodwife!

Join us as we welcome back Ehris and Velya of Grounded Goodwitch to learn about smudging.  “Smudging” is performed to correct the energy in a home, office, object, or even a person.  This is done by burning herbs like sage, mugwort, pine, and cedar in a focused, intentional way to cleanse negative energy, and replenish with positive healing energy.  They will teach you how to identify mugwort. 

Please register on our website or by calling the circulation desk to receive a link to the website the day of the class.  Call the library to arrange for pick-up of materials or harvest your own and use cotton string.

After-Hours Mario Kart 8 Tournament

An after-hours tournament for teens!

Do you have what it takes to be the Hubbard Library Mario Kart Champion? Test your skill against other players for a chance at the trophy and ultimate bragging rights as Ludlow’s Mario Kart 8 champ. Sharknado in extreme interactive mode!

For tweens and teens only (the movie is rated PG13): one of the worst movies ever made has been turned into a movie-watching game! Somewhere between Rocky Horror Picture Show & a drinking game (but appropriate for teens), this game allows you to mock and enjoy every feature of Sharknado that makes it such an incredibly bad movie, including:

  • Shark water squirters for every time it rains despite a clear blue sky in the background
  • Sour Patch Kids to eat every time a shark kills a human
  • Shark paper airplanes to fly every time a shark literally flies through the air
  • Gummy sharks to eat every time a human kills a shark
  • Pretzels to break (& eat) every time there's "Breaking news!"
  • Specific times when you have to sing the Bill Nye the Science Guy and Baby Shark songs
